Cox did the same thing

I was paying $180/month for cable + phone + internet. They wanted $120 for internet + phone with no cable. If you looked at their website, they would offer $65 to new subscribers for the same package, going up to $85 after the first year.

Verizon FIOS offered $50/month so I switched.

Cox never used to be so bad about upping the price. Now they're upping it $20 or 30 in the second year of a 2-year contract and another $30 or $40 once your contract runs out. That's just insane and I can't believe that anyone is willing to accept those terms. They're pricing it not to sell and now you could get all four of the major web-based subscription services (Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, and Sling), and throw in a couple of movie packages, and still be paying well under what you were paying for cable.
